About BestKids.TV
Some children's TV is excellent: well made, with good messages, and enjoyable for adults too. Some is the opposite. Most guides tell you whether a show is safe. This site tries to tell you whether it's good.
Hi, I'm Charlie. In April 2027, I'm going to become a dad! It's an exciting road ahead, and I want to be as prepared as possible. TV is clearly a huge part of bringing children up, and I want to make sure I'm set up for success, with the best shows ready to go.
That's why I built this site. I'd like to know which shows to avoid, and which to champion. I built it now, so I have time to gather feedback and improve accuracy. I plan to limit screen time, but I acknowledge that sometimes it can't be avoided and sometimes it's the best way to entertain a child.
The site judges shows on three things: whether the behaviour they hold up as normal is a good influence, whether adults will enjoy watching alongside (parent appeal), and whether they're well made. It will also flag shows that are overstimulating, made mainly to sell toys, or hard on the ears.
The focus is on what's available in the UK, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and streaming services, because that's where I live.
Some links to shops and streaming services are affiliate links: if you buy a DVD or sign up through one, the site may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That helps pay for running it. Whether a service or shop pays us never affects a show's scores or where it's listed.
